Johns Rant:

Well we are off and I have started to hear from folks again and it seems all is not lost but lets keep this going…. This is #2 t of 52 episodes for 2020.. Getting back to my roots to help insure the shows viability and see if the community still wants it around.

I am looking for more participation from you my producers this year and if it does not appear I may just retire the show. I have had very little in feedback over the past 9 months and well I have no idea if people like it aside from the downloads which have been off.

ClassicPress Options

ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I’ll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

The latest version of Elementor is no longer useful for ClassicPress. I briefly touched on the article in last weeks show and after the show did some more research and attempted to update in on WP Plugins a to Z. It seems the blood letting has begun for plugins and themes.

ClassicPress Plugins

Revisiting Codepotents replacement for tiny mce

In my main ClassicPress install i was using TinyMce as I had not made the time to change it out and saw a regular error about it being in conflict. I installed the Enriched editor from CodePotent and it is seamless to clearing out TinyMCE.

fantastic Plugin that I had reviewed about a year ago in Episode 403 and still gets high marks
