Total and utter wordpress noob. I want to display a table of information in an interactive way. It is actually a matrix of different policies. Across the top there are: Name of policy, Brief summary of policy, Important dates, Category, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities for improvement, References. Down there side there are: Country and Name of policy. I want to somehow make it so you can click for instance "Category" and then the matrix rearranges itself. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!!submitted by /u/Jazzy1211
Hi all actually not new to Reddit but created a username for my dev company.
I have a client and he wants a payment choice form like this: http://www.leimageinc.com/packages/weddings/
I'm looking for suggestions. Trying to do it either free or with a low monthly plan with Stripe built in.
Have been going nuts trying to copy it with Wordpress form builders but as many of you may know each form plugin only has this or that for free. And some IE. WPForms plans are crazy expensive.

Is there a plugin to do the same as in the imgur pic. I would like to add this on a WP page where users/members can submit a project they need to be done for them. Is this a plugin or what? Thx in advance for the feedback!submitted by /u/NoobsAndBoobs
Hello everyone, I am looking for a plugin that enables a subscriber to pay in order to view a post. After payment, he/she will gain access to that post permanently. The plugin can be free or paid. If paid, I prefer if its a one time payment and not a subscription. Thanks.submitted by /u/aeguard
I'm looking for a plugin to list people who need volunteers. In the past the site has just listed them on a page, but we want to be able to have random listings show up in our sidebar.
I thought about using a classifieds plugin and I still might if I can't find anything else.
My perfect plugin: Each listing would need a title, description, start and stop listing date, categories, location and maybe a few hidden, internal fields. The listings would be displayed via shortcode based on categories and there would be a way to display them randomly in a sidebar.
Anyone know something that would fit the bill?submitted by /u/BoyGuitar
Shameless plug(in) here. So I frequently develop custom themes for clients and wanted to keep track of new features so they could easily see what was new with each update after I deployed it (1.0, 1.1, 1.01, etc.). So, anyways, I created a plugin called Release Notes. Check if out if you're interested at https://wordpress.org/plugins/release-notes/.
If you have ideas or suggestions, send 'em my way! I'm hoping to make this useful for developers like me that enjoy having a history of changes to a theme.submitted by /u/harveydent89
With this, you can- 1. Get Most Features in Free While You Have to Pay for the Same Features 2. Use Any WooCommerce Theme Because It is 100% Compatible 3. Create Product Feed Using Category Mapping 4. Make Dynamic Attributes As You Need 5. Add Custom Taxonomy With Naming You Require

For example my website (jeremiahrants) I have the homepage set to display most recent posts [I Do Not Want A Static Homepage].
I'm using a free theme, and I can't find any options for change how the post will be displayed on pages/the home page. It's displayed with a little picture of the thumbnail, and a lot of text.
I want a bigger thumbnail picture and summary right below the text. How can I do this?

I'm helping my cousin develop a new web page that will contain sound files used for meditation and others. It's going to be a page where you subscribe and pay for access. When subscribed you're freely allowed access to all sound files. All sounds should be available by streaming so nobody can download them and end subscription. She has also talked about making an smartphone app for this, but I belive that this could be handled by the webpage alone. I have some knowledge in using wordpress, my main web product has untill recently been a norwegian made cms that I have used for nearly 17 years. Wordpress however has more plugins so thats why I have solved some pages here. Question is: I think its hard to find the right plugins to solve this. Thats when someone told me that Reddit has many knowledged users. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to solve this tasks. Task1: Sound streaming solution Task2: Member payment solution. Regards Trondsubmitted by /u/TrondLa
I preemptively apologize if I should have posted this on a different subreddit.
I developed and launched a photography website: www.endlessformsphotography.com despite zero experience in web design or development. I have hit a dead end and need some help.
The problem: My lightbox.
I have successfully customized my lightbox to fit my needs with two exceptions:
I do not like how it displays image descriptions.
I can get it to appear at a fixed location centered at the bottom of the page (right now the element is not displayed), but it’s problematic for two reasons (aside from the fact that I still cannot get it to overlay in a different order despite using the z-index). (1) For vertical images, I would have to display them smaller to account for the size of the description. (2) For horizontal images, the description is far removed from the image.
Finding a way to position the description relative to the image may resolve the second problem, but not the first, as I do not want the display size of the image to be contingent on the length of the description. Ideally, I would like the image description to pop up as an overlay that can be opened and closed as desired. It would have to be responsive on a phone as well.
It is not responsive to swiping on a phone or tablet.
Right now, the only way to advance between images when the lightbox is open is to click the arrows or hit the left and right arrows on the keyboards. This is an okay user experience while on a computer, but I would like swiping to be possible on a mobile device. Swiping is not only a more pleasant user experience, but it also means I could get rid of the arrows and then display the images at 100% of the display size.
Here’s some (maybe) relevant information about the website and its construction:
- The website was developed via Wordpress using the Twenty Thirteen theme.
- I am using three plugins: NextCellent Gallery, which is not to be confused with NextGen Gallery, Simple Share Buttons Adder, and Content View.
- NextCellent Gallery’s lightbox is a Shutter Reloaded lightbox, but the Shutter Reloaded lightbox was part of the NextCellent Gallery plugin (i.e. I did not download them as separate plugins).
- With the exception of inserting one line of code into the Header.php to import a Google font, the entire website was developed through Wordpress’s GUI and 956 lines of CSS in the “Additional CSS” section of the Wordpress Dashboard.
I suspect I may need to use a different lightbox, but I do not know if this is possible (or too tricky to manage) while still using NextCellent Gallery. I otherwise like NextCellent Gallery and how fast the lightbox is. I originally went with NextCellent Gallery because a lot of people were shitting on NextGen Gallery after a new version was released, and NextCellent is slowly evolving and resembles an older version of NextGen Gallery. I also wanted something free, and many “free” plugins, like NextGen Gallery, are more like demos of the paid product you actually want. I’m not super keen on making a plugin switch, but it’s mostly because I already invested SO MUCH time into customizing the gallery and lightbox features. I hate the idea of doing it again only to find a different drawback. That being said, I recognize that using different plugin may be the best solution. Even though I settled on NextCellent because I wanted something free, I would also consider buying a plugin if it’s the exact product I want and doesn’t require a subscription.
So, any recommendations on moving forward? Modify the plugins I’m using? Get a new plugin? Hire a developer? I am very much out of my league here. When I said I had zero experience, I really meant zero. I basically developed the entire website through trial and error, inspecting and modifying elements. It’s been a struggle. Thank you if you made it this far.submitted by /u/iownezra
[HELP] MP3 player plugin, with playlist functionality, that can have the songs updated programmatically
I have a Python script that downloads MP3s and saves the MP3 files, and each time it saves new files, I'd need to update the playlist programmatically, using the script or some other method. Is there a plugin that supports this? I'm sure there is, but all the ones I've found seem static, where you'd need to go to your WordPress dashboard to update the songs.
As a disclaimer, I have no experience with WordPress, I'll be learning as I go. I have more experience with the backend programming. I appreciate any advice. Thanks!submitted by /u/Super2roopers
Hi, I am looking to create a customized WordPress website. Some of the features of the website I thought I'd add using custom plugins. My question is - Is there a possibility that a WordPress core update would break the functionality of a plugin? Will the custom plugins require re-coding to be compatible with the WordPress update?submitted by /u/Wit_Bot
I'm a WP newbie. As I understand it, WP allows logged in users to view comments by default. I know that you can disable comments as a whole, but I'm trying to find a way to disable viewing comments based on user role. I'd like for subscribers to be restricted from viewing and any higher elevated roles to be able to view and comment.
