Consulting for New Website (Wordpress/Themes/Landingpages/Blog/...) - Possible collaboration afterwards - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Thu, 06/01/2017 - 14:15
Hi there!

This is our existing website: (please ask for the website - too many people contacted outside of upwork). It was built by my former technical co-founder who now follows other projects (but can still provide input).

About Blimp: It is a B2B SaaS Mobile and Web Application that is mostly used by logistics companies.

I generally like the look and feel of the existing website. However I can't really advance it by myself, it is missing some core features (e.g. mobile responsive) and I want to step up our website game by build a new site.

This is what I have in mind so far:
- Wordpress
- Well established Theme that suits the brand and industry
- Ability to build landing pages quickly (myself or through third party)
- Getting new leads is main focus since people don't buy my service off the page (B2B)
- Languages right now: English and German (others might follow)
- Mobile responsive (although >90% of sessions are from desktop, 25% of new sessions are coming from mobile)
- Should include a blog that I can activate once we start with the content
- Include Google Analytics, fb pixel and such.

Since I am not a super technical person I am sure that there are more topics missing that I would love hear from you.

I basically want to hire someone at first to consult me on all the options that are out there. What theme should I use (if any), does it make sense to use tools like Thrive Themes, should lead pages be done by leadpages.net/clickfunnel, and so on and so forth.

What I have in mind:

- 1/2 hour preparation from your side by reviewing the existing website
- 1 hour video call where we talk through my needs, your ideas and the projects you did
- 1/2 hour post work where you take our conversation and formulate your suggestions for me in an email with an estimate on the costs.

I guess you could see this as a chance for a paid sales pitch since I plan on executing and working long term together with the freelancer and who I think is best.

What is really important to me is that you have experiences in the B2B area. You have to have projects in your work experience which do not only involve B2C websites.

Please include the words blueberry muffin in your first sentence on the proposal or your first message so I see you read the whole briefing.

Thanks and best,
Oliver

PHP Email Scripts and Wordpress CSS optimisation (frontend and PHP guru required) - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Thu, 06/01/2017 - 13:25
We run a website www.mobilefreetoplay.com

This has been built ontop of VestaCP with a wordpress installation that runs on both apache and nginx.  It's then hosted on a digitalocean instance running Ubuntu.  We have a duplicate test server setup which we can test elements with.

Experience using www.vestacp.com is a bonus as the site is running on this.

The site runs fine, but we have a few simple optimisations that we would like to do.  The most important of which are some small modifications to our email instance.  We run a trello board with a lot more details but I would like a quote for the following work.

1. Upgrade the Sendy PHP script to force it to send the date and time a user subscribed to via the signup box or via ninja forms.  It's important that we pass over the date of subscribe so that our drip email campaign can work.  Details can be found at www.sendy.co/api

2. I would also like to include other items that we can automatically detect when they signup and store that in our database.  These include
- IP
- Country

2. Once someone has subscribed they are sent to a subscribe success page once they have clicked the verification button.  I would then like them to be able to fill in some more details to supplement our database such as, first name, country etc.  This is optional but I want it to be easy for them to add once they have a confirmed email address.

3. Once we have this in place I can make sure it is working via the sendy GUI and I will be able to create our own drip campaign.

----

4. The next task is improving via CSS3 our scrolling animation.  At the moment you will see that when you scroll on the site the bar and the sidebar compress and make the content more readable.  I always feel it was a bit of a hack and i'd like to improve it by using CSS3 to make a smooth scroll thats fast.

You must also make sure this works on mobile effective.

5. PHPMYADMIN is also having some errors and is not saving it's configuration files correctly, i'd like someone to have a look and fix this.

6. i'd appreciate someone who is experienced to look at our whole setup and suggest optimisations to improve our google page speed and generally make sure the site is as tuned as possible.

We're looking for someone who is happy to work remotely, via a trello board and can keep us updated in Slack.  If you're good then we will keep you long term and you can help us to grow the site. :)

Debug Cache Prevention Not Working - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Thu, 06/01/2017 - 06:39
Hi,

We're having an issue where on certain mobile devices our site is being loaded from cache and therefore showing an old version of the site to those users.

I've added in the following meta tags, to no avail:

```
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="max-age=0" />
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-store" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="Tue, 01 Jan 1980 1:00:00 GMT" />
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" />
```

I've also tried various other permutations of the above, such as using `must-revalidate`, `-1` for the "expires" content value, etc. The meta tags are definitely being added correctly to the site, as I have verified by looking at the page source.

None of this works! Numerous Google searches have led me down a number of rabbit holes, none of which seem to lead to the right answer.

The site is built on WordPress using the Avada theme; here is the url: webinar.thepropertymentors.com.au.

If you can fix this ASAP, apply for this job.

Thank you,
Jackson Holiday Wheeler

Full ecommerce website development - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Wed, 05/31/2017 - 18:57
Hi,
We are looking to have a fully functional ecommerce website developed. Shopify is fine and simple. Open to other alternatives, but it should be easily editable.

The site needs to look very good (obviously) and be ready for google PPC and SEO. Needs to have  a section for blog posts so we can add content etc.

The products are lawn and garden products. We can assist with the descriptions if this helps reduce the cost. The quicker the better!

Please send examples of sites you've built in the past. Thank you!

Also, if you have experience with google PPC we cna make this an ongoing project. But we will want some referrals.

Thanks!

Wordpress Custom Dropdown and Slideout Filters - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Wed, 05/31/2017 - 17:35
Hey looking for someone to help me make Slide Out filters / menus for my site http://www.hockeysticklist.com/startups.

Ideally, I want to create the same look as the WordPress dashboard where my menu is on the left and when the user hovers over a menu title - the filters of that category slide out from the left.

And then for mobile, I want them the filters to be above the content and become dropdowns.  Similar to the ones on https://angel.co/jobs.

Thanks!

[REQUEST] Hashtag feeds from Facebook, twitter, instagram

Talk about plugins - Wed, 05/31/2017 - 15:10

I'm getting married this weekend. We have a wedding site, and I realized it'd be nice to add a gallery to it where our guests can share their pictures.

I'm searching through plugins now for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram that will allow me to create feeds on my site based around a hashtag (so I can announce one at the wedding and encourage everyone to tag the event).

If anyone has used a feed plugin like this before, I'd appreciate suggestions. (I've done generic "page feeds" but never based an embedded feed off of a hashtag before.

Can anyone help with my search for this plugin (or at least a plugin that can do most of the above)?

Need help with Wordpress Web Development - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Wed, 05/31/2017 - 11:37
Hi,
I am looking for a web developer experienced in using wordpress. I need a number of changes made to my website http://www.seo-above.com.au/ .  I would like to continue using the zerif lite theme as the design appeals to me. Currently, my homepage looks nothing like the homepage advertised in the demo and I would like it to resemble it.

I would also like to manage the blog page by dividing content into a blog home and subcategory pages. I would anticipate that for someone experienced in using wordpress this task would take no longer than 4 hours to complete. I would like to see the work completed within two weeks of forming the agreement.

I have attached a word document containing a specific set of instructions regarding the website changes. Please contact me back as soon as possible providing a quote.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Rory

WORDPRESS - Fix a few issues with ACF, CPTs, and Memberpress - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Wed, 05/31/2017 - 06:40
Hi there,

I'm looking for a great developer to fix some code issues on a WordPress site that is using ACF and has a few CPTs.

Problem One:
Getting the file upload field in ACF to upload files to a sub-directory of /wp-content/uploads/. Also curious if it can create the directory if it doesn't yet exist.

Problem Two:
There are two CPTs one the site, and one CPT is 'connected' to the other with the ACF field Post Object. I've got the filtered list working correctly (a list of posts in CPT2 can appear on the single post page for CPT1 with just the CPT2 posts that relate to CPT1)... however I'm just having trouble pulling in one more custom field for the filtered items in the list.

Problems Three:
Is is possible to have an action like creating a new post in a CPT to create a new type of subscription and a new rule in Memberpress?

Problem Four:
Update Memberpress custom files (PHP) to move the subscriptions list from the Memberpress subscriptions page to the Memberpress home / account page

Payment will only be for working solutions that work on the dev site. Before working on each problem, I will give you an outline of what I'm trying to do, and you will estimate the amount of time to solve the problem. You'll then update me at milestones against that estimate to let me know progress.

Authorisation from myself must be sought if a task will take more time than the time estimate provided.

I would imagine that this is probably about 7-10hrs of work in this project (total)

Thanks

Scroll-enabled 3D Model - Upwork

WordPress Work From UpWork - Tue, 05/30/2017 - 23:25
I am building a new online store for a surfboard brand, one that wishes to use 3D models of each surfboard on their product pages. The site will be built on Wordpress, and each of the fifteen surfboard models already has .obj 3D model file.

The product page has been designed so that as you scroll down the page, the 3D model of the surfboard would rotate, allowing us to focus on a different part of the board.

We would integrate the page with something like Simple ScrollMagic, so that when the user scrolls past a certain point, then the board 3D model rotates, and we change the text content to talk about the part of the board that you are now viewing. There are four different angles that we’d show on the page.

My knowledge of WebGL and 3D animation in web is limited (although I have decent experience with JS and basic scroll animations). From what I’ve researched, ThreeJS might be suitable for this use.

Essentially I’m after someone to recommend the best way of achieving our 3D modelling implementation and then develop that into the easiest platform to add new board models with their own .obj files. I will be responsible for development of the site front end and backend for uploading new products.

Attached is an example of the .obj file
